Our approach

Why we built Speakysy.

Born from ten years of teaching and one simple conviction: you learn better with a native speaker who knows you than with an app that forgets you.

Private sessions. Structured follow through. Matching by profile.
Built on one certainty: learning a language happens through a human.

What we believe

Learning a language is not memorizing rules. It is not stacking streaks. It is daring to speak, and having someone across from you who makes you want to do it again.

Speakysy was built for that. To give native speakers the space to pass on their language the way they live it. To give the people learning it a professor who knows them, encourages them, and does not drop them between lessons.

You progress with an attentive human, not with an algorithm.

Three convictions

Not negotiable.

Relationship before content

Your professor knows you. They know what you said last week, what stuck, and what still blocks you. Before any method, before any curriculum: a person who truly follows you. That relationship is what makes you want to come back. And coming back is how you progress.

Desirable difficulty

Reaching for a word, getting it wrong, trying again: in the moment, it feels uncomfortable. And that is exactly when the brain remembers. Cognitive science has a name for this: desirable difficulty. A word someone hands you fades. A word you reached for stays. We do not make the language artificially easy. We stay by your side while it becomes natural.

Lasting memory

What you learned yesterday is already in tomorrow’s lesson. Between two sessions, the follow through holds the thread for you, with no effort on your side. Every lesson builds on the one before: nothing is lost, nothing starts from zero.

The selection

How we select professors

Speakysy professor selection is not a competence filter. It is a compatibility filter.
Application, teaching evaluation, onboarding.
At every step, one question: does this professor know how to create the kind of relationship that makes someone progress?
Structured experience, real time adaptability, teaching empathy. In that order.

What makes Speakysy different

Language apps

They are great for vocabulary, regularity, a first step. What they cannot give you is a real conversation, or someone who listens and adapts to you. If you have months of practice behind you and still hesitate to speak, it is not a motivation problem. It is a format problem.

Tutor marketplaces

Open catalogs with thousands of profiles. You can find someone good, but the matching is on you, and the continuity between lessons is something you have to build yourself.

Selected professors, matched to your profile. Personalized follow through that accumulates from one lesson to the next. Nothing is lost, nothing starts from zero. More selective, more human. And that is intentional.
